Change the format of a Powerpoint Show into being a Presentation?

My boss has a 'Powerpoint Show'. He does not have the original 'Powerpoint
Presentation' and he wants to be able to edit the 'Powerpoint Show'. But
these can't be edited. Does anyone know how to change hte format of a show
back to being a regular 'Powerpoint Presentation'?

You just need to open powerpoint first and then open the powerpoint show to
edit the file. Or change the extension of .pps to .ppt
