There are a couple of options.
1. Go to the following site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-f0ff-4846-9ec1-4add5e493fa6&displaylang=en
and download the rename project tool. It is very simple to use and
documentation comes with the download. The tool only renames the
project so you will need to remember to also rename the corresponding
sharepoint site.

2. NOTE: PROCEED WITH CAUTION. This option isn't nearly as effective
as option one; especially if you have documents, issues and risks
associated with the project. Open up the project you want to rename.
Do a File > Save As and give it the new name. You will then need to
make sure you have all (if there are any) documents associated with the
new project. You will also need to make sure you have taken care of
issues and risks. Once you have taken care of these you can have your
administrator delete the old project. I would make sure you are very
sure about your new project before the administrator deletes the old
project.

I would choose option two only if you don't have any documents, risks
or issues associated with the project. Otherwise option one is the
easier route to go.

Thanks,

Victor

Victor - do you know if the rename tool handles linkages successfully? For
example, if there are two projects that have linkages to each other and you
run the rename tool on one of them, will the second one get updated
automatically so the linkages will still be good and reflect the "new" file?
thanks,
Debbie

Sorry, but I am not sure about that. My first thought is that it would
handle it correctly, but you should test that out first.

Unfortunately, my IT department has not installed the tool and I don't have
the admin rights to do it myself so I'm not able to test it out. Thanks for
the reply!
