Had Project 2002, Sharepoint, OLAP up and running and was doing well on a small pilot within IT...THEN I decided to change the Default Web Site because I wanted to be on a drive with more room for .NET development.

STUPID IDEA...mostly I get them after 9pm on Friday nights

Now I can't get my Project or Sharepoint back...NO, I did not do anything smart like backing up the website before blowing it away.

1. Do I need to start over, or can I somehow recover?
2. If I delete project server and start over, how do I protect my data (all in SQL server)? Presumably the data is all there and I also have an offline backup from the 29th March after which not too much has changed
3. Do I need to backup the LM_3WC databases that evidently SharePoint created

Backup the Project Server and STS databases just to be safe.

The easiest thing to do is to reinstall Project Server but make sure
you select, "Use an existing Project Server database" (similar). This
will allow you to point to your current Project Server database. To
answer your first question, you probably could recover but it probably
isn't worth the time or effort. The longest part of the install is
setting up the database but since you already have the Project Server
database, the install shouldn't take so long.

I don't really remember what to do with STS and don't have a 2002 test
system setup. You might want to do a search on the sharepoint group
and post a question there.

Good luck.
