Changed format for column but only working for one cell.

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

I selected a column and formatted for text to align verticale top. But only aligning vertical top for the cell I'm working on at that moment. It's not making other cell align vertical top. I'm lost: I selected the full column. thanks!

PS: same thing with Wrap, I select whole columns but wrat text only working for one cell at a time, frustrating.

Yeah, we're out here, but we can't reproduce the problem :)

How did you format the cells originally?

Are you using styles?

What is in the cells?

Anyone out there? this is killing me!

Yeah, I can't repro here either.

Is this happening in one specific sheet? One specific workbook? Did you
create the file yourself or did it come from another source?

As is typically the case, you need to supply details, details, details :)

Thanks guys.
There are no styles. Or maybe there are. I'm pasting text from emailes into the cells. Everything I do is mostly text.

Now I did at one point select the entire workbook and pulled a row dows to make all the rows a bit larger. What do you call when do that?
Does that screw everything up?

I'm so frustrated though -- text bleeds out of all cells, wrap wont work.
(I can send this file to either of you -- if you have an email address, I'd love to do that -- this may be a hard case to solve by emails/forum)

J

John McGhie

Yeah, you can email a small copy of that file to me, I will take a look.

Cheers

Nope: Nothing here from you...

You sent it in plain text format, with no URLs or anything else that would
make it look like Spam, a valid return address, and only one attachment?

Cheers

John, did get the file, I sent it directly.

Oh wait... Which email address did you use? The one in the Forum is a fake
that goes nowhere: use the one in my signature...

Yes John, just one attachment for normal email account. sent it exactly to:

(e-mail address removed)

but is this coded? ie .name?

People code their private email address in so many ways its hard to figure out all of them.

J

John McGhie

Yeah, that's correct.

Send me a plain text email with no urls or anything else in it, a subject
line, and no attachment.

Just one line of text, so I can figure out what's wrong.

Cheers

I think John meant for you to not send any more than the 1 attachment he
asked for.

Thanks Bob, yes I do have an attachment with my logo. I'll retry now with just the file. Very touchy stuff here!

Hi Kevs:

What I need you to do is to send a plain text email containing one line of
text with no pictures and no URLs :)

I have one of the most paranoid spam and virus and malware filters in the
business ‹ it would make Fort Knox feel inadequate :)

MVPs suffer an influx of people trying to "get back at Microsoft" by sending
spam and viruses like a fire hose. My server deletes three or four thousand
an hour somedays :)

I need to get an email from you so I can create a whitelist entry for you.

Cheers

Nup! Nothing here...

Post your email address here and I'll send you one...

Cheers

John, resent it yesterday. I'll send a one line email right now.

Ok John, I'll post it right here, but should I try to hide it somehow to prevent spammers from picking up, and if so how, or just not worry about it?

J

John McGhie

I wouldn't worry about it: I have been posting my real email address in
these forums since 1997...

Then again, I have a Spam Filter than makes Fort Knox feel inadequate :)

Cheers
