One of my project managers had a task which changed ownership part way
through the project. The developer originally designated did a fair bit of
work and then the task was passed to a new developer to complete. The project
manager reflected this in the plan by changing the name of the developer
assigned to the task. The result was ... all actuals for the original
developer were lost. The work estimate and results for the new developer were
reflected incorrectly. To fix this we had to go in and reset the work
estimate back to the correct value and then "dummy up" actuals to account for
the work that was lost. Clearly this is the wrong way to do this ....
question... How should we correctly handle assignment changes in project
using project server?
