Changes to Clients details - retaining 'before' and 'after'

I have a table contining all the client details (names, addresses etc).

When I make changes to the names etc I need to keep a record of the previous
details, so that I can generate a report of all changes to client details.

How do I maintain records of the 'before' and 'after' data
