Changes to the Enterprise Resource Pool not showing in PWA

Hi,

I have changed several records in the Enterprise Resource Pool, add new
accounts, define the RBS, and so on, and I cannot see any of this
changes/additions in PWA (nor me that I'm the platform admin, nor the Project
Managers)

I thought this was an immediate process. What am I missing?

Thanks

I just found out there are some resources created in PWA and other resources
in the Resource pool. Is there a way I can manage to have one and only one
resource pool?

You should always add resources first to the Enterprise Resource Pool. When
you do so, the system automatically creates user accounts for them in PWA.
You should only create user accounts in PWA for users who will not perform
project work and do not need to be in the Enterprise Resource Pool, such as
executives. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the reply. I am inheriting the administration of both PS and PWA
and I'm facing this lack of synchronization between them. What happens if I
remove ALL PWA users? will PS' Enterprise Resource Pool then automatically
create the accounts in PWA?

Thanks again

Mauricio

Why in the world would you do that? What problem would it solve? For those
resources who only have a PWA user account, simply add them to the
Enterprise Resource Pool, taking extra care to match the name and Windows
User Account information exactly. Hope this helps.

I think I'm not sending out the right message: I have updated and created
several accounts using the Enterprise Resource Pool from Project 2003
Professional but I don't see any of the updates nor the fresh accounts when
loggin in PWA. That's why I asked about removing the PWA accounts. Theses are
not local but enterprise resources as well ( I have created my contractors as
local resources using PWA). Basically I go back to the problem definition:
why the changes I am doing by using EntResPool are not being shown/applied to
PWA?

Thanks

Let's see if I understand the problem:

1. You entered new resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool and saved the
resource pool file.
2. The resources do not show up in the Resource Center page.

If #1 or #2 above are not correct, please let me know where I am failing to
understand your problem. If I am right with both statements above, does
your server application log show any errors?

Dale,

That's correetc. New resources are not shown in PWA. I went ahead and did
the following exercise: I opened PWA (login as admin), went to resources,
selected all the records and opened them with Project. The Resource Sheet I
got shows only the records I selected in PWA. I went to Tools, Enterprise
Options, Open Enterprise Resource Pool and I found that all the resources I
created last week are not checked out. That is my question: why these new
resources are not available in PWA?

Mauricio,

Suspect that there is an error with the olap cube building - have you
checked?

Had the same issue and resolved it by having the cube deleted and
completely rebuilt.

Good call Steve but I could not get any solution. I recreate the OLAP cube
but my resources in PWA are still the same. I have not tried deleting the
cube, basically because I don't know how to do it. I'll research a little on
this topic and will let you know
