Changine a file from rgb to cmyk

P

Pam Burke

I am trying to e-mail an ad I have created in Microsoft
Publisher 2002 to a magazine for publication. I created it
in Microsoft Publisher 2002, then converted it with
win2pdf (at 300 dpi) and e-mailed it. They say it's rgb
(red, green, blue) instead of cmyk. I did find a setting
under commercial printing to change from rgb to cmyk. I
tried this but I'm not exactly sure if this took effect.
The magazine still doesn't think my ad is usable. I have e-
mailed 3 other magazines in the past that all accept the
converted file but this one can't. Any suggestions would
be appreciated.

Hi JL Amerson ([email protected]),
in the newsgroups
you posted:

|| Pub 2002 does not allow you to creaate a CMYK output. Pub 2003 does
|| but I've been reading mixed reveiws here about that feature.

I have not seen any mixed reviews or issues when using the CMYK composite
feature in Publisher 2003. As long as you are using a PS v2 driver or
better, there should be no issues. JoAnn, can you elaborate?

I have the same problem with color
Also, I use Adobe PDf creator to send files to printers. I prepare the files for spot colors/separations and the pdfs are composites. Has anyone figured out how to get around this one?
