Hey guys,
Hope you can help with this one, I went to the privatenews group with this
one but they sent me to check on this one as it wasnt a break/fix, so help
someone can help me with this.
One of our clients want to archive about 50 projects or so, the thing is
they want to set all times entered after the 1st July to 0 and set all
remaining work to 0 so all tasks are completed and set to 100% and the
project is complete.
Now here's the problem they have projects which some users have got
protected actuals after the 1st July and they also have some users which are
still entering times to these projects and are in the updates pending which
may or may not still have times for these tasks that they want to 0 out.
What they want to do is effectively 0 out all the times, which can be either
protected actual, or pending. We have suggested that they set it to
non-managed time periods and zero out the times in Project and republish the
assignments overwriting the actual work entered by the resources. This will
effectively do what they want, which is zero out the tasks.
However, they want to know if there is a script to be able to do this
directly onto the database, I could probably just zero out all tasks for a
particular project and set all times after July to 0 but is there going to
be any potential disastrous errors doing this could cause?
Thank you for any help.
