Changing appointment to all day event

Hi, I have some birthdays in my calender that are now showing as appointment
(spanning x 2 days). Is there any easy way to alter these all to be ALL DAY
EVENT, on one day, rather than re-entering each one individually?

Strange thing is: If I double click to open any of these (that spread over 2
days), and change NOTHING, but just click Save and Close, it immediately
corrects itself and becomes an All-Day-Event, even though I have made no
changes.
