Changing Background Color

S

Sharon

We have been sent a PowerPoint presentation and we need to make a copy of one
of the slides. The background on the presentation is dark blue and we would
like to change it to white. I have tried every possible program (Paint,
Publisher, Word, etc.) that I can think of and can find no way to do this.
Any suggestions?

Why not just open the presentation in PPT, go to Format|Background, and
change the background color to white?

Sharon,
You did not mention the PPT version so I'm guessing your use PPT 2002/2003.
Why don't you copy the slide into a brand new presentation. The moment you
paste it you will be presented with a little icon (Paste options- which will
let you paste and keep the original formatting or follow the formatting the
current presentation which will be white be default.
Or have I completely misread your question.

For some reason, I am unable to do either of the things suggested by you or
Echo S. I now have the document in every format imaginable, including .tif,
..pdf, bitmap, jpeg, etc.. Any other suggestions.

Oh, you have an image, not a PPT presentation, then? In that case, you'll
have to use an image editor to change colors on the image. Which image
editor you're using will determine the process you use to do that. And,
depending on the image, the results might not be very good.

If that's not the case, then you'll have to give us some details on what
exactly it is you're working with.

Try going into the slide master (View>Master>Slide Master) and see if an
image is stretched across the slide. Normally, they're inserted as a
background and will change color like described above. However, if it's
image on the slide itself, you'll need to delete it.

Sharon, try this: open the file, in the Format menu, select Background, click
the drop dowm arrow, choose the white color, press the Apply to all. Hope
this may help.
