changing cells depending on another cell.

Hi.

I've dont it

=VLOOKUP(Item,Q1:R6,2)

However it does not seem to recognise anything begining with the lette
c in the table, so if I type in car I dont get a number in the cos
column, everything else works though. Any idea why this could b
happening?

it may be that you need:

=VLOOKUP(Item,$Q$1:$R$6,2)

if you are dragging the formula down through other cells
