Changing Chart color in Powerpoint

How do I change the color on a chart in Powerpoint?

Before it used to show an octagon with a whole arrary of colors, now its
showing only preset colors that I don't want to use.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

By the way, I'm using Office 2003 and it might be a hexagon not an octagon,
but the idea is the same.

You can only choose chart colors from a limited palette of (something like) 56
colors. A few of these colors follow the PowerPoint color scheme, but you can
change the others if you like.

With the chart activated, choose Tools, Options, Color Tab. Click the color
you want to change then click Modify.

There you go ... your old friend, Mr. ColorPicker Hexagon. ;-)
