Changing column flow

I have a three columned document. Text flows from Page 1
Column 1 to P1C2 to P1C3 to P2C1. I want text in a column
to flow to the same column in the next page instead so
the result is

-----
a b c
a b c
a b c
-----
a b c
a b c

-----

instead of

-----
a a b
a a b
a b b
-----
b c
c c
c c
-----

I know flow can be controlled with text boxes - can this
be done with columns? Using text boxes is a very
inelegant solution for a long document.

Use an unbordered three column table.

Thanks. That at least flows right but has other
limitations such as having an image straddle columns.

It seems basic column flow can't be managed. Looks like
I'll have to do with these workaroubds until Word 2005!

Word handles basic column flow just fine. It seems that you just don't
understand how columns basically flow! If you want an image to straddle two
columns, try merging the cells in one row. Also, you might be happier using
text boxes; in fact, you might be happier using Publisher or some other page
layout software.
