Changing currency sign

E

Earl Forrence

Hello all,

Nuisance situation.

When opening a project from Enterprise, I get a message
that the currency sign in the project is not in
correspondence with the default setting. OK says I, I'll
just go to Tools / Options / View Tab (as I've always done
before) and change it.

When I get there, I find that the $ in the Symbol field is
grayed-out and I can't change it.

Any notions of where/how I can change it for the project?
(BTB, the currency sign in Enterprise Global is indeed $).

Thanks . Earl

In your company's enterprise environment with Project Server, apparently the
option has been set to enforce a single currency in all projects. Your
Project Server administrator could confirm this by doing the following:

1. Log into PWA with Administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Manage Enterprise Features link

On the Manage Enterprise Features page in PWA, there is an option called
"Enforce single currency as specified in the enterprise global template."
If this option is selected, then the currency set in the Enterprise Global
($) will be enforced in every project and you will not be allowed to change
it.

If this setting in PWA is does not match your company's enterprise needs for
tracking project costs, such as if you are a multinational company that uses
different currencies for projects, then I would strongly recommend that this
option be deselected in PWA. Hope this helps.
