Changing Custom Color in Data Series

We recently re-branded and we have a new color palette that I would
like to implement on our existing reports.

I tried to go into Tools > Options > Color and modify the the first
three colors in the "fill" section. I then assigned those colors to
the data series in my chart.

However, when I run the report, the colors revert back to the default
colors before I made the custom changes. What am I doing wrong? Is
there a better way to assign custom colors to data series?
