Changing default spreadsheet margins

I would like to change the default for the margin set up
for all spreadsheets, so when I open up a new spreadsheet
it will give me all margin sizes of .25. How do I do this?

Hi

Set up a sheet just as you like it - with margins, fonts, formats, etc and
then save this as book.xlt in your XLStart folder. These settings will
become any new book's defaults.

I tried your suggestion but I think I am doing something
wrong. My XLStart folder is in C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office10\XLStart. When I saved it to get the .xlt
extension I needed to save it as a template file. When I
opened a new spreadsheet in drive u: (because I work off a
server) it still had the original settings for the margin.
Your suggestions are appreciated.

I figured it out. I saved it to my own personal document
and settings file. It worked. Thanks for your suggestion.

If you start a new sheet in drive C: do you get what you want? Maybe you'll
have to copy your book.xlt into U drive's XLStart folder
