Changing Duration to integer rather than decimal

K

Kirsti Feldmann

I am a new user in MS Project and am interested in
finding out techniques for formatting the duration field.
Specifically I would like to change it from a decimal
field to an integer. Does anyone know if this can be
done and how?

Currently we have MS Project 2002 but will be upgrading
to MS Project 2003, so would like information for both if
anyone has done this.

Appreciate it,

Kirsti

By default, the Duration field is formatted to two decimal places of
accuracy, such as 4.13 days. You cannot format it any other way. The best
that you could do is to use a custom field with a formula that converts the
Duration to an integer. Sorry for the bad news. Hope this helps.

Thank you Dale,

This does help. At least I can quit trying to find the
conversion button. I'm working on developing a formula
now....I think I have one... but it has been a little
tricky because of the text aspects of the duration
field. Thanks again for your help.
