changing formates

I am trying to insert a lot of figures into a excel document,however when I
leave the cell, the zero at the beginning of the numbers always disappears,
how can I change this so it doesn't happen and the whole number stays in the
field?

format as text or a custom format for the number of digits
000000

Precede the number with an apostrophe or pre-format the cells as Text.
