Changing formula fields names in PPS2007

Claudio Hidetoshi

Hi all,
in PPS2003 I have 2 custom fields:

Enterprise Project Number1
Name: "low value"
Formula: [Priority] + 150

Enterprise Project Number 2
Name: "high value"
Formula: [Enterprise Project Number1] + 250

Post PPS2007 migration, I changed the field "high value" formula to:
[low value] + 250

When try to edit the field "high value" again, the formula continues
referencing to "Enterprise Project Number1", not to "low value".

And, when I try to use the field in a project, it gets an #error.

Any idea ?

Claudio that sounds like a local caching issue. Try the following
Open Project Pro
go to tools > local Project cache and select Cache Settings
Cope the path you see under Cache location
Close Project Pro
Open the Windows Exprlorer and paste the path into the Address bar
Delete all folders you find under this path
Re-open Project Pro. The problem should be gone ( hopefully :) )

Hope this helps

Hi Marc, thnaks for your help.

I cleaned the cache and altered the "high value" formula to: [low value] + 250
After save the field formula, I closed Project Pro and cleaned the cache
again.
But, when I edit the "high value" field, the formula continues showing
"[Enterprise Project Number1] + 250", and it doesn't work in a new Project.

I'm using PWA custom field editor to edit the formula.

This is odd, in the past I had the problem the a formula wouldnt work at all
just showing #ERROR eventhough the formula was right. I deleted the custom
field an re-created it which resolved the issue, but it has implications. All
Projects will need to be re-opened, recalculated and publised before the new
value is displayed. If you dont mind that you may want to consider that. But
to be honest it is a stab in the dark at the moment.
