I never relied on the importing of the account settings; just do it
manually. Sooner or later you'll have to configure it again like when you
reinstall your PC and then you won't have OE to import from either. Contact
your ISP for your account settings.

Once configured export your mail from within OE (do not choose to import
from within Outlook or you'll loose the dates of the messages) you can
remove your account from OE so Outlook will be the only program collecting
mail.

Thanks for that.
My email is a Hotmail account and the only options
manually seem to be a POP3. My ISP does provide a an email
but I dont use it. How do I get it to retrieve from my
Hotmail account.
Cheers

Outlook 2000 doesn't support Hotmail natively. Outlook 2002 and 2003 do. For
Outlook 2000 you'll need a third party tool like Hotmail Popper
