Changing Groups

I have been asked to write some code to "reorganize" the groups in Project
Server 2003. I wanted to ask what the "best practice" is for accomplishing
this ?

I have the current group name(s) and what the changed group name(s) are to
become. Also, this is sometimes not a 1:1 name change, some also change the
hierarchy totally. I plan on using Visual Basic 6 for this.

Will Project Server take the appropriate actions once changes are made ? Do
I need to change each resource or can I just change group names and the rest
happens behind the scenes ?

I have downloaded the Project Server 2003 SDK and have looked at the
documentation some.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
