Changing Office2003 CD Key

W

Willy

I purchased a PC with Office 2003 on it. I set-up Outlook as a Calendar
only. Well, when I went to the Office Update Site, it said the current key
was blocked so can't update Office 2003. However, I purchased Office 2003
which has a valid (I hope CD Key), How can I change CD key on current
installation without re-installing? I don't want to have to go through all
my personalization's again.

What is the Office version of the installed Office 2003 and which 2003 version did you purchase

Peter,
Best I can tell is I purchased version 1.xxxxx SP2 and one installed just
says version 11.xxxx SP1. So I assume it is SP1 just needs updates from
update site to SP2.

The question was "What version" of Office 2003 e.g.:
Office 2003 Professional
Office 2003 Standard
Office 2003 Student & Teacher
Office 2003 Small Business
What version is currently installed?
What version did you buy?

Insert the Office CD and re-install Office over the top of your current
installation.
You customized settings 'should' remain intact.
No need to apologize -- your response made clear that you are a
'newbie',
which is why I clarified the request for you.

Steve,
That don't work, it doesn't ask for the CD Key cause it already sees one in
the registry. It gives me 3 options:
--Add/Remove an option-----------Like adding Access or something that wasn't
originally installed
--Repair/Reinstall----------this option puts in state that is on CD, loose
personalization's I assume
--Uninstall--I'd for sure loose my personalization's
