Changing openign format

I unchecked the security check box. Documents still open in the "Final
showing markup" view. I want them to open in the "Final" view. Evidently
the system defaults to the "Final showing markup" view, can I change this?

Word 2002 or 2003? Yes, in either case the system defaults to show the
Markups. This is because it's potentially dangerous: you might send a
document out-of-house without realizing it contains sensitive material. It's
not clear from your message: Have you unchecked "Make hidden markup visible
when opening or saving" in Tools/OPtions/Security?
