Changing Recent Opened Docs in dropdown Menu

How / Where in the registry - can I change the number of recently viewed docs
that appear in the drop down menu in Word, Excel, PPT, Paint, etc. ?

I've done it before but it's been a long time and I've forgotten
...............

Why registry? It all depends on the application. In Word, Tools,
Options, General. Same in Excel and Access,
