A Local resource is considered a non-enterprise resource which exists only
in the project plan but does not exist in the Enterprise Resource Pool. If
an enterprise resource exists in the Enterprise Resource Pool and will take
the place of the local resource, you can do the following:
1. Open the project in question
2. Click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise
3. On the right side of the dialog, select the local resource
4. On the left side of the dialog, select the enterprise resource
5. Click the Replace button
6. Click the Close button
If the local resource has not performed any Actual Work in the plan, the
local resource will be replaced on every task to which it was assigned. If
the local resource has performed Actual Work, then you will need to click
the Add button in step #5 above. Once you have done so, you will have to
manually replace the local resource with the enterprise resource by
completing the following steps:
1. Select the tasks to which the local resource is assigned
2. Click the Assign Resources button on the Standard toolbar
3. In the dialog, select the local resource
4. Click the Replace button
5. Select the enterprise resource
6. Click the OK button and then click the Close button
Hope this helps.
