Changing the "Company" in the properties/summary tab permanently

Is it possible to change the company name in the properties/summary tab for
office? Currently it has our company name but it is abbreviated - and
incorrect. This is an issue. I can change the name but when I save the
document it just refreshes the old abbreviated version back into that company
field.
