Changing the default bullets that are not specified in a master?

I've created a template, i've specified the bullet styles in the master slides.

For some reason I get a certain "default" bullet when I create a new text
box and click on the bullet list button. can I specify that bullet so it
looks like one of my master slide bullet styles?
