Yes, as a matter of fact, I am using Exchange server. Got any
advice??
One thing to note - when I set up new users to replace ex-employees, I don't
generally just change the name for the new employee so they can use the old
login/mailbox. I set up a new account/mailbox, and if instructed, grant that
user (or whomever) rights to the old mailbox so they can open it in Outlook
and grab/move/copy what they need to their own mailbox. Then the old mailbox
can be retired. The old user's email address(es) can then be assigned as
(an) additional address(es) to the new mailbox once it's been removed from
the old one, if need be.
That said - what did the Exchange admins do? Did they rename the:
Login name
Alias name
Display name on the mailbox
Home directory
Anything else that needs to be done
It isn't so easy to change the Windows profile name, so many don't bother -
but then you end up with a profile name that doesn't match. As mentioned, I
really prefer not to do this - the only time I change names is if someone
changes their actual name.
If so, and you still see the old info, modify your Outlook profile - in the
properties of your Exchange server service - where it has the old name,
change it to the new mailbox alias, and let it check names to see if it
resolves properly to the new display name. If so, you're good to go.
