Changing View Isn't Global.

David F.

I'm getting a little frustrated. I when to define the message view, changed
it to the way I want it but it only applies to the folder I'm in -- almost
like I was choosing to modify the current view. I go back in to the define
message view and on different folders has different settings.

This is tedious work turning off the group by, the lines, and everything
else and getting it to stick .. I would think all I'd have to do is define
the view the way I want and anything based on it would also change!!???

What am I missing here.

From what I remember from a recent post by another Outlook MVP: You will
need to reset the Messages view (which should propagate to all mail
folders), then make your preferred changes to Messages, and then those
changes should stick for all folders (unless you modify them on a specific
folder -- then that folder will show the modified Messages view unless you
reset Messages again).

You can reset the Messages view in the Define Views dialog.
