Character Spacing Vs Full justification

BuffySummers

I hope I can explain this right.

I am typing a document using Microsoft Word 2007. I need to use
Courier New 12 and it needs to be strictly left justified.

I have set the document to left justification but word keeps stretching
or consensing the words so that the document looks fully justified (even
though word is telling me it is left justified).

Any ideas on how I can fix this.

You need to set the paragraph format to Left Aligned, not Justified.

Go to Office Button | Word Options | Advanced: Display and check the box for
"Optimize character positioning for layout rather than readability." This
setting seems to affect monospaced fonts more than proportional ones.
