Check boxes and filling out circles

Hello, I have been trying for a long time to do the following:
1.- in WORD, I have 14pages with items and checkboxes which I have to double
click in order to 'check' the box with a big X. Is there a way to just click
on it to check the box?

2.- in EXCEL, I have another 17 pages with too many items. each item has a
small circle, box or triangle which have certain meaning each. I normally
press ctrl and click on all of the ones that I need to 'fill-in in color
black' and then click the fill color. but sometimes, selecting the boxes and
circles and triangles I need, if I dont click it right on the edge, I need to
restart selecting all of them again. Is there a way to just click on the
figure and make it 'fill color' ?

Hi Wild on E,

In Word: If you mean a formfield checkbox, it should only require a single click - and I can't see any option that would require a
double-click, unless you've changed a Windows-level setting for your mouse.

In Excel, the only way I know of would be to have a macro do the selection - but it would probably then need to be programmed with
the logic that you're using for the manual process. Best to ask in an excel newsgroup.

Cheers
