Check Boxes

I am wanting to put check boxes on my doc. I know how to
put them in the doc through forms but you must password
protect it in order for a user to be able to check it.
You can also right click but that takes too long. I have
heard that you can write a macro (Checkit and Uncheckit)
and some earlier fax templates have this code. I tried
to copy the code and put in the normal.doc but I must be
doing something wrong. Will somebody tell me the code
for the macros to allow a user to check and uncheck and
how to copy them into word?

Thank you for your reply. I went to the website and
followed instructions but it does not change the box when
I double click. I have to go and run macro to uncheck or
check. After I check or uncheck I can double click it to
make it change but then I can not double click again to
change it back. I followed instruction to the T. Let me
know if I am doing something wrong. I really want this
to work and have been trying a long time.

I have rechecked my web page following my own instructions and it works
fine. Double clicking a macrobutton field runs the macro attached to it. The
macros each replace the field with the alternative macrobutton field saved
as autotext entries, so if it isn't working either you need to check on the
syntax of the fields and the autotext names.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at

Chapman's series of articles. You don't need to password protect a form to
use form fields, but you do need to protect the document for forms. However,
there are a number of ways to create and use clickable checkboxes in
documents / templates. Some require protected or locked forms, others do
not. Take a look at the Checkbox template available at
http://www.addbalance.com/word/download.htm#CheckboxAddIn for an exploration
of these.
