Check for new message's every x minutes

Outlook 2000, Windows 2000, Office 2000, connecting to NetWare 3.12 and MS Mail Post Office
The "check for new message's x minutes" option has stopped working.
Have tried numerous, repair, re-install, Office option re-install/repair features, all with no luck in restoring the service to check for message's x minutes. User's have to click "send/rec." in order to get their mail
Setup/Options under Service's
Microsoft Mai
Personal Folders - mailbox.ps
Personal Address Book - mailbox.pa
Any idea's
