check mark

Can someone please tell me how to insert a check mark in a
word document. I do not have a check mark in my symbols.
I thought perhaps I need to download some other symbols,
but don't know where to go! help?

Go to Insert-->Symbol... and you will see two tabs (well
at least that's what i see). On the Symbols tab there is
a drop-down menu up top...find Wingdings. That one i see
has a checkmark towards the bottom - you may have to
scroll the big box to see it. If you don't have Wingdings
(doesn't it come standard?!?) you might have to get your
Office CD and install something like Assorted Fonts or
something off the extras section.

You can find the checkmark using Insert | Symbol. Select
Windings 2 (61520)....or second row from the top.
