check unboud field value against a table

I have created an bound field that is the contenation of the value os 3 combo
boxes. This value is stored on the form as ComCostCode. I want to check that
value to see if it exists in a table. (not the table the form was built on.)
How do I do this.

In addition, if I cannot check it, how can i store it in the bound table? If
this is possible then I can set up referential integrity??

Use DLookup() to see if the other table contains the value (or combination
of values).
