I am using Powerpoint 2003 and I am trying to add a check-box to a
presentation.

Im not sure if I am doing it right but when I try to drag the check-box from
the menu to the presentation nothing happens.

How can I add a check-box?

Thanks in advance.

Do you just want to have a checkable checkbox, or do you want something to
happen when the checkbox is checked? To have something happen will require
some VBA programming.

1. Go to the View menu and choose Toolbars and Control Toolbox (unless it
is already checked).
2. Look for the checkbox icon and click on it.
3. Drag your mouse anywhere on the screen to create the checkbox.
4. Right click on the newly created checkbox and choose Properties from
the flyout menu.
5. Look at the Properties Window (be sure you are in the Alphebetized
tab) and look for the 7th property, which is Caption.
6. Change the caption from "CheckBox1" to whatever you want next to the
checkbox.
7. Remember that the checkbox is only clickable in Slide Show view, not
Edit/Normal view.

I still have the same problem. I get stuck on step 3.
When I try to drag the checkbox it does not drag. I click on the check box
while holding down I drag to presentation and let go and there is no
checkbox. That is the problem I am having. It is not the individual
presentation because the same problem exists if I try it with a new
presentation.

How can I fix this?

The problem is that you are combining steps 2 and 3. Don't drag the
checkbox. Click on the checkbox tool (and don't hold) to select the
checkbox tool (your mouse cursor should change to a + sign). Then (like
any of the drawing tools on the Drawing toolbar), click and drag where
you want the checkbox to be on your slide.
