checked in project that cannot open

hi

I have read all the posts on projects that are checked-
in/out. This never happened before until i changed my
PC. There is only one file that check-out on project
server. I always check-in first then open it in project,
however it never actually opens it just crashes i have
opened other published projects and they do not get
checked-out on the server, i always save and use
file/close.

This particular file is my main file i use everyday.
Can any one hlep??

Maybe the file is corrupted? I would put a backup
version of it on the server and see if you can open that
one.

Or, the issue could be your new PC - does it have the
latest and greatest IE version? Your ODBC setup
correctly? Do you have permissions on the box and on the
server to open the file? Is your Project set up
correctly on your box? Do you have professional or
standard on your box and what did you have before and
what does the server have checked under Admin for "must
have project professional to publish"?

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Hi CQ thanks for the questions.

I have the new IE and i had both PCs on when checking the
settings and made sure the new one had the same as the
old one.
I am the administrator and only user of professional
project.
I have checked to allow only professional to publish to
the server.
I have done all you have asked but not opening the backup
version. I do think the file is corrupt.

Hi

I managed to open the file on my old pc and i copied the
tasks into a mpp file. Then i deleted the file that was
causing problems from the server and pulished the new one
I made and it now works beautifully.

It turns out I had a resources still assigned that had
been deleted.

Thanks for your help, I had a few days out of action
becasuse of it.
