Checking In & Checking Out

A few of the project managers say they would like to work at home but the
server we have is used only internally. Is there a way of checking a file
out overnight then checking it back in the morning.

I also have difficulty understanding why i can't check a project out and
check it in when i have finshed updating what i need to update. i.e. if a
project manager is working on something and hasn't finished it during the day
why do they have to save and display an unfinished version during the time
they have gone home.

Tell your people that they must explicitly follow the directions in the
above link. Tell them that under no circumstances should they click File -
Save As to save the project and work on it at home.

Concerning your second question, I presume you are concerned that projects
"under revision" at showing their current state in the Project Center and
detailed Project views in PWA. If this is truly a problem in your
organization, your project managers can use the method referenced in the
above link. Hope this helps.
