Chkdsk /f cannot fix volume bitmap errors

Despite using chkdsk /f, the windows error check tool and recovery the error
remains. When I recovered pc - there were no chkdsk errors untill system was
reprogrogrammed - then same errors reappeared.

Some people have suggested removing service pack 2 - is this barmy?

The pc is unusable at moment and is so bug ridden as to seem unfixable.

I have overhauled the system, optimised and defragmented disc, but to no
avail.
I am constantly getting the same error reported and none of the windows
tools can fix it.

If anyone knows whats going on I would most appreciate any advice. The
pc's sevice team say 'it's nothing to worry about' (huh!) and yet things
are progressing and seem to be degrading. Please help.
