choosing an option for 'was this post helpful?'

Catherine

I find many of these postings extremely helpful, thank you! I do try to
select "yes" to 'was this post helpful?', but I never see the number of posts
change based on my feedback. Why is this? Is there something else I need to
do to show that a post has been helpful? Thank you.

Catherine,

Number of posts will not change unless you write something, but a right tick
will appear for the post you rated.

I don't know what you mean by "a right tick". What is a "right tick"? Where
do I perform a "right tick"? Do I perform a "right tick"? Do I need to
write a reply in order to be able to show that the post was helpful? How do
I write something and show the post was helpful? For example, I replies to
this post, and I don't see where I can show it was helpful.

Catherine,

A few posts below your post, can you see a question, “Subject: Where do I
find the PID number for Office? Expand that. Bob asked a question and Don
replied. Bob thanked Don and also rated his post. The green tick with the
Don’s post indicates that Bob had rated his post too. Now click on Don’s
post. You can see the message: 1 out of 1 people found this post helpful
just under the question “Was this post helpful to you?â€

I hope it is clear now.

Was this post helpful to you?

Regards,

Jaleel

Catherine, you are undoubtedly defining "tick" as a "bloodsucking arachnid".
Jaleel, however, has merely misspelled the word "click".
She meant to write:
"Right-Click" (...e.g. activate the right-mouse button).

Thank you. The process for rating a post and for replying to a post is
something you at the Community might want to show on your web site. For
example, if I select 'reply' first, I cannot then rate the post. If I select
'yes' or 'no' to the question "Did this post answer the question", I can also
then do a reply. Do you think it might be good to be able to rate a post
without replying? Just a thought.

Also, it seems like you're talking about a 'tick' for what I call a
'checkmark'. Your mention of the color green tipped me off.

Thank you!
