choosing the size of graphics

When I was trained on Frontpage, I was told graphics
shouldn't be over 100 KB. But that is making them very
small on the web page - 2x2. I modify my graphics In
Adobe Photoshop. Can they be larger without slowing down
the download time of the page? thanks for the help. Rena

One thing you have to consider; file sizes and download times are a moving target. People are getting faster internet connections every day. You need to determine your website audience. Are the majority likely to use dial-up, or faster?

If your into digital photography and you want to show some great photos, why show them in low resolution just so they load fast? Leave a message stating something like 'these images are high resolution and will take a while to load on load speed connections ..." Or give them a choice of "low res"or hi res".

Is the last thing you do in PhotoShop "Save for Web"
This should get the file size way down and still give yo
a good looking pic
