Clarification of Student/Teacher edition

D

David~Cross

I have a version of Office 2004 Mac purchased at the local University store.
It was purchased at student pricing and the CD is marked 'Applications
Student Media' and also 'Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition
(Product Key Required)'. The packaging includes a 25 digit/letter Product
Key. The odd thing is that the product key is not asked for during
installation. The installation disk automatically sets up a 20 digit license
number. I had understood that the Student/Teacher edition can be installed on
three computers. However, my version only allows one instance to run on my
home network.

Do I have the Student/Teacher edition or not? This is very confusing. Any
help would be appreciated.

You may want to ask this in an Office for the Mac group - Office STE 2003
for the PC does allow 3 installations - not sure about the Mac version. You
can always check the Microsoft Mactopia site for information on the Office
installation question.
