Classic Interface for MS Office 2K7

K

Is there a way to get tid of the awful unusable new interfaces for
Office 2K7 and go back to the classic menus?

it seems a bit ridiculous
that if windows can provide
the classic theme as an option
then they could have designed the
same option into office.

the world wonders why
microsoft deviated this
time..........

well...,

in this case i was referring
to the availability of a
third party software to do
what microsoft should have
incorporated as a simple
standard and convenience.

That decision was not made lightly and most of this Monday morning
quarterbacking is done by novices.

And my point was that this hotly-contested debate has already taken place in
several other discussion threads, and it doesn't really seem necessary to
re-hash the same points yet again! Whether you agree or disagree, love it
or hate it, there's plenty of information about why the decisions were made,
and how to mitigate them, elsewhere.

Only because ms changed the name to command prompt.

The old dos program "list.com" runs very nicely in winxp sp2.

M

mezzodiva

Oh, I use DOS commands all the time in the command window. Nothing easier
for working with files in batch!

interesting..

i was only making a
calm and polite observation
as to why ms didn't include
differing views into office.

however, seems like there has
been years worth of
discussions and major
worldwide debates
about the "idiotic ribbon toolbar"

where is a diplomatic solution
to a crisis like this when you
need one.

: )

You ass-u-me people here have the knowledge to search the newsgroup?
If you've read more than a few posts here, all asking the same
questions over and over and over, you know that most people here do not
search the group.

I don't know if it's lack of knowledge or laziness or just plain
stupidity but nobody here seems willing to look before leaping.

One more time, I sure miss Miss Perspicacia Tick. Someone needs to say
the very non-PC, impolite and *very* true things she said........

I've been reading and responding to posts here for more than 10 years under
a different name, so I do have a clue.

Nonetheless, my optimistic, altruistic desire to educate will continue to
hope that people will search *something* before posting a question that's
been asked, debated and answered 3,572 times. Even though they don't, I will
continue, for the next 10 years or more (the fates willing), to post the
suggestion that people search *something* before posting.

Ms. Tick has, indeed, said the things *out loud* that most of us will not
(but wish we could). As annoying as s/he can be, I must admit that there are
many times I admire his/her wit and forthrightness.

Miss Tick is certainly female - no doubt about it.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

I've been told she has acquired a Mac and is posting in some of the Mac
groups but I've not seen or heard from her in a very long time.

I do miss her, her posts were usually entertaining even when she aimed
her barbs at me.....

I agree. Miss Tick is definitely female. She's posted under a LOT of aliases
through the years. Her last known alias she used here was Margolotta. (Well,
known to me anyway, I may have missed a later one.)

Some of those who change an alias aren't as easy to pick up on, especially
when their posting style is SO different from previous postings, but
eventually folks tend to give themselves away, usually by something they say
that has a familiar ring to it. I'm thinking of one in particular and I've
gotta say I'm liking the change!!. ;-)

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

No, but I can boot to runlevel 3 under Linux. What kind of an
argument is that? MS made a stupid decision before and made their
software worse, so they should do it again. Nice, MS, nice. You
suck!
