Click on message and entourage crashes

This is upsetting...

Everytime I click on a message - entourage crashes. This is several
different ones and many that I have been able to read before

I have rebuilt the database (now 1.1 gb down from 1.5) - but still crashing.

I am aware of the possible 'toxic' message syndrome where you have to turn
off rules, spam filter and delete the message. But this is several message
now.

I have been able to use an old copy of Outlook 2001 under classic to view
message without problems. Of course Outlook isnt as good at displaying html
email messages.

Help!

1. Check for database corrupt by switching Identities.
2. Check for problems in the User's folder by creating a new User under
System Preferences.

It could be a corrupt preference or font.

Test for a corrupt font:

Entourage X Preferences

~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Entourage.plist

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Entourage Preferences

So I changed identities and I was able to open entourage and read
messages... If this means the database is corrupt - what do I do to recover
it? I have already done the basic rebuild.

I will check fonts as well - but this is difficult to troubleshoot.

Try the advanced rebuild.

If you continue to have problems, you can move your data out to a new
database. It's not an easy process and we can discuss that later.
