Thanks Bill ....It worked.
I also found out that this problem happens because of corrupted OAB.
Downloading new Address Book through Tools-Send And Receive-Download Address
Book will work as well.

I have been reading this thread but, it seems like a lot of information is
missing. Can you fill in the blanks?

I'm having this same problem. Outlook crashes when hitting send/receive.
All other PST file functionality is there...delete, move, copy, read, etc.
I've re-installed Outlook 2003 and run scanpst.exe a couple of times. No
changes. This happened all of a sudden and without warning.

If this were happening to me, I'd first locate the SRS file in
%AppData%\Microsoft\IOutlook and rename or delete it (with Outlook closed),
restart Outlook to recreate the file, and then tailor the send/receive
settings as they had been. If that didn't work, I't create a new mail
profile.

I'm having the same problem. The error message I get reads: "Unable to
complete the operation. A fatal error has occurred in Outlook". The the error
reporting dialog box shows up. Outlook quits & restarts.
I'm not sure I understand the fix for the problem from the preceeding
thread. Are we saying that my contacts list is corrupted?

Please:
I really need help with this. But your information is too general. I don't
know the steps involved in doing any of the things you suggest.

My outlook 2003 and my internet explorer 7 have not worked properly for
about 10 days now. I am desperate. I have to get important mail out. It is
large and I need to prove it has been recieved.

I agree with Eric. How do you do this. What are the steps. What happens if I
create a new profile. How do I retreive the letter I spent 2 weeks writing -
it crashed on the way out. Now its not in the sent box and not in the out box

Brian: I have read your advice many times before. It is usually so helpfull.
But please remember to put the steps in. I don't understand how to do any of
this and this is my mail. I am very worried about losing any of it.

Where do you get stuck?
He even tells you were the file is. You can put the location he gave
directly in the Address Bar in your Explorer.

I gave you the folder path to examine. Do you find it hard to use Windows
Explorer? Open Windows Explorer. Enter the path I wrote (i.e.,
%AppData%\Microsoft\IOutlook) in the Address field and click Go. You should
see a file there whose extension is ".srs". Select it and delete it.
