Client only access for web page

I need to restrict access to a page of my web site for client access only in
FP2002. Any suggestions - can be password or login - whatever is easiest.

If your web host lets you, you can create or ask for a user account to be
created. Some hosts will let you create accounts manually while others will
either have you request an account from them, or simply won't create them at
all. You will need to connect directly to your web that is on your hosted
server by using File | Open Web and entering the URL that you normally enter
for publishing. Once there, try going to the Tools | Server | Permissions
(in FP 2002 it's close to this but I can't remember the exact wording) and
see if you can set permissions and/or create new accounts. Some hosts have a
seperate control panel that you can use to create user accounts and you may
need ot do this before setting them in FP. Once you get the permissions
dialog you just add the user you want and set them to browse access. Always
make sure that your account is listed there as some people jump the gun and
delete accounts they don't recognize only to find out they just deleted
their own account from having access. Then you'll need to disable the
anonymous browsing in the permissions tab. I can't remember the exact
wording for this in FP 2002. In FP 2003 it's a checkbox that says valid
username and password required to browse. If I remember correctly though, in
previous versions it was a radio button that was either set to allow
everyone to browse or to restrict access, you'll want the restrict access
version.

Hope this helps,
