Clients Need .NET Framework??

Do Office 2007 clients need to have the .NET framework installed on their
local machines? If so, why? I though that was only for development purposes,
but maybe I'm wrong.

Depends - certainly the ODF add-in requires .NET Programmability support
activated in Word....
