clip art organizer glich

Running windows xp/office xp. Recently when i invoke the Clip Art Oganizer
(from app.) I get the following message:
"Clip Organizer Cannot Complete the Operation.
The server threw an exception.
Error Code 0x80010105"

I have found nothing in the knowledge base that will help. There some vague
references to "sound" files and "0x80010105" but nothing re: clip art. Also,
after I press OK I get an explorer-type desktop, rather than the more
user-friendly one I am used to (replete with meaningful icons).

I would very much appreciate help.
thanks

Hi there

Try update your MDAC from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?productID=&freetext=MDAC&DisplayLang=en

This problem I have seen before, but there's more possible causes.
They identified a new issue with Clipart on WinXP as described, but
there is no article for it yet.

What other applications do you have installed? Specifically
non-Microsoft products. Some prevent MDAC from updating (that's how
they found out it was a TP application causing it). I remember there
was one's database that caused havoc, but the company has made updates
available to users. (check Control Panel>Add/REmove Programs for a
list of all applications).

Let me know, I'm pretty sure this should fix it. Let me know.

Kind regards and good luck

Carla

Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to read my msg. I tried the download and got:

"MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of Windows. All of its
features are currently part of Windows."

Can you think of anything further??

thanks again

What version of Windows do you have?

If you can open clip organizer standalone go to Tools | select Compact

You can also try a detect and repair from the help menu.

If these articles don't help post in the Design Gallery Newsgroup with the
info of what you have specifically done to try to resolve the problem and
include OS version

Paul,

I tried the two URL's at the top of your note. Neither helped.
I'm running MS Windows XP, Ver. 2002, SP2
I had tried the "compact" option earlier, with no apparent success.
I also tried the MS repair module; but I will try that again since I've run
some of the
other progs. you've suggested and the results may be more positive. I'll
keep you posted. Thanks for hanging in.
