Hi

I have multiple clients using windows XP with roaming
profiles, connected to a windows 2ooo server. when they
try to use clipart in word the clipart gallery is
painfully slow, and in some cases fails to load.

Any ideas on how to speed it up?

Hello Gary

We had the same complaint here, so we turned off searching
the web by default. It took a while to find the right
registry key, because the key does not exist until you
actually do a search for a string.

A slight side issue: The following registry key will
tell Word not to prompt you to catalogue all media files:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Clip
Organizer\ShowAutoImport=0.

Now, to remove the web from the 'default' search:
Do a dummy search (ie, search for something), then in the
registry, have a look at the keys under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Clip Organizer.
I think it is the 3rd key you need to delete. Also, set
search key to blank in the registry.

Have a play, and you should see what I mean.

I have the same problem too and applied your instructions, but I can'
find what you mean in the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Cli
Organizer
Maybe with the clear explanation would help.
